This course is a pivotal step in expanding your knowledge and experience. Being a Rescue diver you learn to look beyond yourself to consider the safety and well-being of other divers in your group. It is also a prerequisite for PADI leadership-level training (PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor and Open water instructor). The course expands your basic problem prevention and accident skills that you learnt when you did you open water and advance course. You will find the rescue course very demanding though its realistic approach, content and scenario. By the nature of the course being serious, the course is an enjoyable challenge that builds a divers confidence.
The Rescue course is a three day course. Day one in the classroom watching the Padi Rescue video and you have knowledge reviews to complete plus the Rescue diver exam. Your Padi instructor will have you prepare a rescue plan for the area where the rescue scenario will take place. Then after a lunch break we will take you to the pool to demonstrate the skills to prepare you for your open water scenarios.
The next Two Days are spent doing the open water scenarios making them as realistic as possible, we will repeat the rescue scenarios if necessary to help you build your confidence and inprove your rescue skills. We do all the 10 scenarios from the boat at different dive sites around Koh Tao to give you the best experience possible with adventure, fun and safety in mind.
- You must be 12 years or over
- A Padi (Junior) Adventure diver but must have completed the Padi Underwater Navigation Adventure dive.
- EFR Primary and Secondary Care training with in the last 24 months.
